POM has high compressive strength, bending stiffness, good ductility, and good wear resistance. Its physical properties are excellent, its strength reaches 50.5MPa, and its specific bending stiffness reaches 2650MPa, which is very close to metal materials. The physical properties of POM change little with the temperature, and the change of mixed POM is slightly larger than that of homopolymer POM.
POM has high impact and compressive strength, but its basic impact is not as good as ABS and PC; POM is sensitive to notches, which can reduce the impact compressive strength by as much as 90%. The fatigue limit of POM is very prominent. After 10 alternating load effects, the fatigue limit reaches 35MPa, while the fatigue limit of PA and PC is only 28MPa.
The stress relaxation of POM is similar to that of PA, which is only 2.3% at 20 ℃, 21MPa and 3000h, and is not affected by temperature. POM has small friction factor, good wear resistance (POM>PA66>PA6>ABS>HPVC>PS>PC), high limit PV value and good self-adhesion. When the POM handicrafts are grinded, the high load effect is easy to cause the noise of similar screaming.
